So what do you think about them apples? I sure don't know what's going on. I'm sticking to protocol, not eating the melba toast. My calories are fine. Something Biz asked made me wonder though... She asked if this could be a set point for me. And I am not really sure but it's very possible. I have done a fair amount of yo-yoing in my day so it's really hard to keep track of. I remember being around 150 for a long time, but after I got married I gained a little weight and stayed there for a while and it's true that it could have been about the range I'm at right now. So I'll just sit tight and be patient. I'm not one to attempt an apple day just to get a false sense of accomplishment when I know it won't really make a difference in "fat" loss. So I'll just stick to my guns and hang in there for the duration. Which will probably be the middle of next week when I finish up this vial. I am still experiencing a little hunger but it's not too bad and I'm just fine otherwise. And that's all I want to say about that!
I'm not really thinking clearly enough to post much tonight so I'll stop for now and hopefully I'll be able to get time this weekend to do a more complete post. We had some changes in our household this week and our nest is getting emptier, so maybe I'll talk about that a little too.
So enjoy the weekend!

Biz thanks for asking about the set point since I hadn't really considered it before. Time will tell!

Amy and Mary, your encouragement is very appreciated!

Becca, I had a friend on the protocol back in Sept/Oct - she would email me every day for almost 2 weeks without a loss. She was very determined to get thru it, but it was a daily process. 2 weeks at the exact same weight. It was none of this up and down business some people go thru, nope, each and every day she got on the scale it read the same.

Discouraging to say the least. Every day we tried to figure out what was going on, and every day we came up empty handed. She ended up doing the protocol exactly the way Dr S prescribed, to no avail.

What is interesting? On the 15th day, BAM, 3 lbs lost, and then it continued on with pretty impressive numbers for the next two weeks.

Now I am not saying this will happen to you ... but we established that she was indeed at a set point. And she persevered, and was rewarded. Funny, she is the only person I have seen so far in my almost 6 months have the 2 week stall that Dr S does talk about. Most others I have seen last as long as 10 days, but seldom more.

I know you are not one to do an apple day, but sometimes that might be needed to kick start the body into listening to your will. There is something to be said for the fact that he gives us that option for "purely psychological" reasons. When our "mind" and our "body" are in sync, amazing things happen.

Please, I am not telling you what to do, but I don't want you to feel that you are psychologically "weak" if you consider an apple day. Please take that under the spirit it was given ok?

Other than that, your attitude sounds just wonderful! You should be commended my sweet.

Take care!
