See stats below... Morning sickness again

The best part of the whole deal is that I lost 2.6 lbs! Woo Hoo. I had another bout of nausea within an hour of this morning's injection. But I laid down on the bed for about 15 minutes and it passed without incident. I feel just fine right now. Grapefruit for breakfast and chicken onion soup for lunch. I was feeling like I wanted something to eat this afternoon, not really hungry but just wanted to nibble so I ate half of my evening's portion of orange. I'll save the rest for after dinner. Dinner will be fish grilled on the George Foreman. Haven't decided on the veggie yet. I'm going shopping in a bit so I'll see what I come hope with. My daughter told me a funny story yesterday. She is helping a friend get started on HCG and her friend didn't want to tell her husband because she knew he would give her flack about it (sound familiar anyone?) So the day after she starts, he finds her stash of supplies! She said she put them in a place where he NEVER would look and sure enough he looked in there for something and went through the roof! So she has to calm him down and convince him that it's a safe diet and not a crazy one. My daughter told her to just give him her copy of Pounds and Inches and tell him to not criticize until he reads the whole thing... I'll keep you updated when I find out more...

Biz, yes I was dancing the happy dance today!

Mary, don't if feel gooooood?!!! (and don't worry you'll catch up!)

B, yes I'm happy to be back on P2 and losing again. I feel much more in control. I am of the "cheating is not an option" school where P2 is concerned so I know I'll be okay.

Jennifer, I left a reply to your broccoli question on yesterday's comments. But yes I do use it and would have a harder time without it! And I still lose!

R2P2 VLCD day 1, and MORNING SICKNESS????

Starting weight first round: 198 10-5-7
LIW 160.4 12-18-07
Yesterday's weight 165.8
Today's weight and R2P2 Starting weight 167.8
Gain of 2.0 lbs

Okay so I'm starting at 7.4 lbs over my LIW. Not the greatest but not the worst either. Today was my third injection day and I'm injecting 133 IU SQ. Last round I used 166 and did fine but based on info gleaned from other people's blogs and the HCG2 group site I decided to try a lower dose. Since my daughter had already mixed this batch to make .5 ml be 166, I decided to just fill the syringes to .4 and I'm calculating that that is approximately 133 IU. So last night I didn't have time to cook a meal to take to work for lunch the way I usually did on my last round. So when I woke up this morning, I got up, wrapped a pre-measured portion of chicken in aluminum foil with a sprinkle of seasonings and popped it in the toaster oven on "bake" for 20 minutes and let it cook while I was in the shower and drying my hair. I had several baggies of broccoli all ready to go in the freezer and I was on my way! I usually inject about an hour after I get to work, I'm a leave at the last minute kind of person and I'm usually too rushed to do it before work in the morning. I take enough pre-filled syringes to last the week and keep them tucked away in my insulated lunch bag way in the back of the office fridge. So far no one has messed with them. So I injected around 8 this morning, made myself a huge mug of tea and went back to my desk. About halfway through the mug, I started feeling extremely nauseous. I put my head down on the desk for a while but the feeling didn't pass. I walked outside for some fresh air and it was so cold out there it made me feel even worse. I ended up having to make a mad dash for the ladies room just in time to empty my already empty stomach. And as soon as I recovered and rinsed my mouth, I began feeling just fine again. So can someone tell me what THAT was all about? Funny thing is, when my daughter had some problems early on in her first round, I told her that some women have symptoms that mimic the early stages of pregnancy probably due to the HCG hormone in their bodies, but I really never thought it would happen to me, a 53 year old woman who's endured a hysterectomy and menopause! So isn't that ironic? Hah! I had morning sickness! Too funny. Felt fine the rest of the day. Ate my lunch with no problem, came home and made a batch of chicken and onion soup as well as a batch of cabbage chili. My husband ate some of the chicken soup for dinner and I ate the chili and the rest went in the freezer to take to work next week. Yum! I'm set for a while. I may do a little more cooking if I have time tomorrow and try out some recipes that I didn't get around to making on the last round. I'm going to be very prepared, having learned that it's not that much fun to cook lunch for the day in the wee hours of the morning.

----------------------
Mary, the Mexican food was so good, especially the margarita that went with it! And you know it's COLD here too. We have to protect some of our trees from the frost. My husband put strings of Christmas lights in them and keeps them on at night. Our neighbors thought we were bonkers putting up NEW Christmas lights long after Christmas was over...

Biz I know how you like those short rounds. They sure work well for you. I'm just hoping this round is a good one and doesn't drag on too long. I'll think positive thoughts like Lynn's post today. I'll envision good losses and a quick round! And yes go for the Mexican food and don't forget the margies! Or the Dos Equis, or the Coronas....

OMG Jennifer, Dog treats? Surely you jest? That is the lowest of the low!!!! And you can tell him I said so! LOL. I'm excited to be on my last one too! Woo Hoo we're going to be skinny minnies for life! And I should have a good loss overnight since I had such and extremely empty stomach after my episode this morning! I'll try to post my stats early tomorrow since I don't have to work.

Renee, I just got the George Foreman when I started my first P2 in October and I love, love, love it. Fish is so good with just some seasoning and sea salt sprinkled on. My daughter got one after she saw how much I was using mine. What an awesome invention! And now I've got my trusty toaster oven to cook while I'm taking my morning shower! LOL! We should put up a few GF and Toaster oven recipes on your blog site! HA!

2nd injection/VLCD tomorrow

Starting weight first round: 198 10-5-7
LIW 160.4 12-18-07
Yesterday's weight 164.4
Today's weight 165.8
5.4 over LIW

Even though I'm not actually "loading" yesterday and today, I'm eating a little more than usual and I went out for Mexican food last night since I won't be having any for a long while. So I guess gaining 1.4 lbs is understandable. I didn't eat as much today, but still ate a burger and fries from In and Out burger for lunch and a cheese crisp for dinner. So maybe a little gain for tomorrow too. But tomorrow I'll be back on the VLCD and cheating is NOT an option. Depending on tomorrow's weigh in, I'll have approximately 30 lbs left to lose so this will NOT be a short round. I'd like to go until the weight is GONE. I'm happy to be back on P2 but I'm not prepared completely yet. I don't know what I'm going to do for lunch tomorrow. I was going to make some soup tonight, but we had grandkids over tonight so I didn't get around to it. I gave my daughter all my frozen pre-made meals so nothing there except raw measured portions of chicken and steak. Maybe I'll be able to cook something in the George foreman while I'm getting ready for work in the morning. It's late so this will have to be a short post. Maybe I'll have time for a longer one tomorrow. Happy losing everyone!

Mary, hope your first VLCD went okay. I'll check your blog in a bit!

Jennifer, thanks for laughing at my little R2P2 joke, hehe. I sure would have liked sharing this experience with my hubby, you're so lucky to be doing it together. I will pass your weight lifting advice on to my daughter. I'm sure she'll be fine with however it works out.

Biz, I was wondering why you didn't reply. I thought maybe you were only on the puter first thing in the am, but then I thought I've seen posts on HCG2 from you at night before. So now I know...

Thanks for stopping by and the welcome... It feels good to be starting again!

Back in the saddle again, R2 P2

Starting weight first round: 198 10-5-7
LIW 160.4 12-18-07
Yesterday's weight 164.0
Today's weight 164.4
4.0 over LIW

I never got a chance to post yesterday because I was working on other things and before I knew it, it was time for bed. Yesterday my husband finally gave me an answer about when he wanted to start the HCG protocol, and it basically boiled down to "not right now!" mainly because of upcoming travel. I was disappointed but now I understand why he hasn't been acting like he was getting ready to start. It's funny because we talk about everything usually, but for some reason, he just doesn't like to talk about this subject. Must be something going on there that he has to work through on his own. So I'll just be patient until he's ready to talk. So with that decision made, I was a little bummed since I thought all along I'd have him going on it with me and I kind of had a "phooey with him" attitude so I just went ahead and did my first injection this morning. I had planned on waiting until Sunday, but I already had enough for 15 injections since my daughter mixed up a batch and gave me half a few days ago. So I started today! I am planning to eat more than I normally would by keeping my calorie and fat count fairly high, but I won't be doing any major loading like I did with my first round. I've been swayed by those who believe that it isn't needed as much on subsequent rounds and I don't want to risk gaining even more since I'm starting my round at 4.0 lbs over my LIW already.
My daughter called me today and is very close to her goal weight with just 3 more pounds to lose! She had been thinking about what happens if you start up a heavy duty exercise routine once you're done and you gain additional muscle weight. Will the extra weight cause your hypothalamus to mess up again? I told her that no, I don't believe it would unless you attempted to lose the weight you gained by traditional dieting and ended up putting your body into "starvation" mode again. I told her that if she was reasonably sure that she was adding weight due to extra muscle, that she should NOT try to lose the weight but to just add it to her set point weight (LIW) and use that as her new set point. So if anyone has any thing to add to that, we'd appreciate any info or opinions that others might have.
One more thing that I want to post about today... On the way home from work my car pool partner told me that a mutual acquaintance at work who is extremely overweight is undergoing gastric bypass surgery today. This just saddened me so much. I've talked to my car pool partner about the diet and gave him a copy of Dr. S.'s manuscript so I said that I thought it was too bad that I couldn't have shared the knowledge with this man since the HCG diet works so much better than the surgery and is so much safer and healthier. This turned into a lengthy discussion about the diet again and he is still thinking about trying it himself along with his wife. He says that she has to agree and is going to give her the manuscript to read. They could both benefit from this since they are very young and have both put on quite a bit of weight in the last couple of years.
So many people who need it and we can't help them unless they want to help themselves...

Yes B, and we WILL be cured! So cool...

Mary as you can tell, my start date is.... Today!!!

Biz, Thanks I'm glad to be back and sorry I missed posting yesterday. I tried to make up for it by sending you an email but don't know if you read it yet. Mostly just telling you what I've got in my blog today.

I'm baaaaaaack!

P4 day 4
Starting weight last round: 172.8 - 11-24-7
LIW 160.4 12-18-07
Yesterday's weight 164.0
Today's weight 163.8
3.4 over LIW

Wow, the last few days have been busy! Took our two grandsons on a ski trip this weekend and that was fun, but kinda tiring if you know what I mean. They took snowboarding lessons for the first time and they both had a good time but the younger one got tired out and ended up sitting out the afternoon session. I thought he would say he didn't want to go again, but he's saying he had fun and wants to try it again. So this is a mixed blessing because we love taking the kids along but it's a lot more work and a lot more expensive (for their parents too!) Then on Sunday it was a party for our 8 year old grandson, Gage. His party was at a place called "Bounce U" that has just a bunch of inflatable bouncy type things in it where the kids can go down a slide and have tug of wars and boxing matches with huge soft boxing gloves. About a dozen or so kids screaming and loud music blaring for over an hour. Fun but chaotic. All in all, quite a busy weekend.
I have been eating just about whatever I want, but I don't think I'm eating as many calories as I should be. I've had a few cookies and some breads and pizza and so far, my weight hasn't changed much at all. I'm still higher than I'd like to be but knowing that P2 is less than a week away makes it less urgent for me to try to lose it. But my daughter asked me if I thought I had "reset" like Dr. S. says we should and I'd have to say that no, I don't think so, but not because his protocol doesn't work, but because I didn't follow the maintenance phase the way I should have. And I haven't really tried to test it because I don't want to worry about gaining a lot of weight and then having to struggle to get back down before I start my new round. So while I can't say that it's completely reset, I do think that my metabolism is much improved from what it has been when I've gone off of diets before. Prior to HCG, I would start putting the weight on as soon as I started eating "normally" and then I'd watch what I ate for a while and then the cravings would start again and I'd be right back into weight gaining mode. So my body is definitely reacting differently this time and it makes me feel confident that when I do follow the maintenance phase to the letter on my last round that I will have the promised results and be cured!
